About Me

David Barrick is well-versed in leadership thanks to his extensive education and experience. A former elected official, he served as the Chief Administrative Office of Brampton, Ontario; Budget Chair for the Niagara Region; senior leader at the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority; Councilor for the Regional Municipality of Niagara; Police Services Board Member; and has helped billion dollar corporations meet changing needs. He continues to use the experience he gained to hone his management approach, which has provided the necessary skill set for him to serve as principal consultant for a number of unique and lucrative ventures. His vast experience in the public realm, often spent balancing budgetary demands and overseeing large teams of amazing people, has positioned him for effective management and threat mitigation. In other words, David’s efforts positively transform communities and organisations. After working overseas, he is able to approach opportunities and challenges with a level of wisdom that can only be gleaned from global experience. David has dedicated his adult life to representing local communities with budgetary management for essentials like social programs and infrastructure. He has tirelessly advocated for the environment in all areas of his professional life. Environmental sustainability is intrinsic to who he is as a person, and as a leader. David has served on panels like Canada’s Innovation Corridor Summit. Also, Forbes recognized his dedication to administration through its “Forbes Canada’s Best Employer Top 100” in 2020 and 2021. David chose to continue his education even after graduating from Brock University with an Honours Bachelor’s in Political Science and a concentration in Law. He has since earned a number of administrative and leadership-focused certifications through York University’s Schulich School of Business and Queen’s University Smith School of Business, including in a variety of subjects like Strategic Analytics, Negotiating and Consensus Building, and Interrupting Bias. As testament to his concern for his community and environment, he also attained a certification from the Safe Drinking Water Program, offered by Conservation Ontario University’s Executive Development Program and Standard of Care.
